Aug 2004 - BBC Put Kybosh On OLW Video

The BBC have "strenuously objected" to an OLW video based on the famous Test Card, featuring a girl and her toy clown playing noughts and crosses.

In the video to the track "Living Idiot", the original test card image was altered to include a minature George W. Bush made up with clown's face paint. The promo, "directed" by Raj Yagnik, is the band's cheapest to date. In the spirit of the original testcard it consists of nothing more than the same image projected for 3 minutes and 46 seconds.

A BBC representative said, "Testcard F is very famous icon and as such many people are very protective of it.... especially in the context where the clown is replaced with George Bush, we could not give our permission".

Unfortunately, we are not able to bring this gloriously subversive video to you but anyone wishing to experience the feel of the original should play the track while staring at their computer screen now.
